This is the coolest thing. I like writing out my notes. This way I always have them!

I was prepared to try it and return it if it did not live up to my expectations

Well, after 2 weeks I still have it and I’m ecstatic that I can now ask questions about the notes I take, not have to constantly review my pages to find what I’m looking for. The X-Note has completely changed the way I capture and retrieve information. The handwriting recognition has been shockingly accurate, even with my rushed meeting scrawl, and the ability to instantly search through everything I’ve written feels like magic. It’s taken the stress out of keeping organized and now I can focus on thinking, not on flipping through old notebooks or trying to remember where I wrote something down. If you’re on the fence like I was, give it a shot. It’s rare that a tool not only meets expectations but quietly becomes something you can’t imagine working without. The X-Note has done exactly that for me.

Perfect size but expensive

The mini notebook is perfect for carrying in your pocket or in the car. However I feel that at £15 each plus £15 delivery its an expensive addition. The mini notebook is of the same quality as the Larger ones and perhaps thought could be given to a less luxurious cover to reduce the price so that people would buy more of them.

Well-supported platform without having to interface external apps

This is a great platform - conventional note-taking supported by AI function. The handwriting detection is amazingly accurate (I write horribly) and the AI-generated templates are really helpful. I am a researcher so my notes can range from words to figures to scientific literature.

I got the XNote for my father. He was able to easily understand the usage of it despite not being very tech savy. He's enjoyed the product. One small note of a potential improvement: The notebook should have a way to hold/carry the pen. I only mention it since having the two separate items can cause the loss of one or the other. Loving it! However I'm not too sure about the AI conversion. It seems it only does the first portion of the note and it doesn't recognize when you strikeout some text. Finally, and I could just be unaware but it seems I can only view the notes on my phone. Which isn't so convenient for taking notes on a laptop based workflow.

Handwriting recognition is better than any other system I've tried - and I've tried many. The AI organising capability is underwhelming. I assume there will be more development in future. I would love to see softback notebooks - they're so much more packable and less space-consuming than hardback.

Concept is great… few things let it down.

Concept is great. However on using it, I found that if you hold the pen still for a time, then start using it again, it has gone into standby and doesn’t capture the written notes. Equally, the fact that the nib isn’t central means when starting to write, you need to look and spin the pen to the right orientation. It’s good, but not quite there.

Being able to leverage the power of conversational AI to maximise utility of the XNote note writing system is a total game changer. I have generally found the conversion of handwriting to texts, to be really excellent - and make no mistake my handwriting is no calligraphy! - however this the means you have computer readable text accessible to the power of AI - its a game changer! I just love love love xNOTE!

I had a few issues to begin with, but now I've got used to it, I find it an invaluable addition to my note-taking and digital world. Specifically, when I want to get away from the computer. Being able to write notes and then upload them seamlessly at a later date is valuable.

Nice product, but it is missing actual AI

Hi team, Even though the product can read my handwritting, the problem that it has it is related to the AI, what I see is that it uses an older OpenAI model, this is because it got stucked when in a page I added fake data to assess the graphs it could create, but instead of showing different graphs, it only indicates several times the same one over and over. I mentioned this to the AI, but it continued to show the same error. I would suggest, if possible, you let your users add their own OpenAI or Anthropic's API keys. That way, I know that the data presented would be the one I require. I understand that this suggestion goes against your product, since you charged me ~$75 to use AI, that amount of money is far over the number of tokens I would consume with my handwriting. Also, every single phrase I write sends it (through the integration to Todoist ) as an actionable, the problem with that is that not everything I write is an actionable, 50% of the stuff I write is information I require for later. It would be awesome if I could define the prefix, so the IA would say this is an actionable, this isn't it.

Amazing with some room for improving

I bought these for myself and my office manager. They are game changers. Knowing they are new, the handwriting recognition needs improvement and a desktop app with searchable functions and AI is needed. But love love love.

Great Ai. Terrible Pen.

It’s a super-smart and reliable concept. But the proposition, I thought, was to enable those who like penmanship (with a real pen) to enjoy writing their notes. Yet, the quality of the ink cartridges is very unimpressive. Like a cheap 50 cents BIC disposable. Actually, not as good as that. So I’m a bit disappointed by that part of the experience.

Needs improvement

There are two critical things that would make this notebook excellent. The first is a bookmark ribbon so I can mark where in the notebook was the last page I used and the other is some type of holder for the pen. If this notebook is to be used only with the pen you would think that you would have something that brings the notebook and pen together. I hope you work on this in your next iteration of the notebook.

Early Stage Product

I love the idea and it works to a point, but the website is flawed and won't let me reset my password, after it locked me out for no reason, there is no real way to get the notes in other apps like one note without copy paste, the ChatGPT integration doesn't save history, the unit turns off and has no auto on so you constantly need to check your make sure the light is on.

XNote review after approx. 2 weeks

I will not evaluate international shipping to the EU, as this is not XNote's responsibility. I have already written this to XNote, and I will write it here as well. The pen not only requires a Bluetooth connection, but also recommends having system animations turned on, enabling precise location, and turning on location in the settings in the top bar. When all of this is turned on, the connection is practically immediate. XNote has really gone to town with the packaging, and everything is black, which I like. The pen turns on immediately after removing the cap and waits for pairing, even if you want to write offline. The pen can be turned off by holding down the button. If it were a regular pen, I would immediately start complaining that it is quite heavy. But knowing what it can do, I'm not so surprised. I have no complaints about the XNote app so far. In two weeks, it hasn't crashed, frozen, or anything like that. The transfer of strokes from the pen to the app is very accurate, which I appreciate. However, there are some issues with small dots (at the ends of sentences, etc.) and other minor things. All you need to do is make the dots a little bigger and the problem is solved. Needless to say, if you have multiple physical notebooks, the app distinguishes between them. What I rate very positively and am glad that it was thought of is that you can write offline with the pen (without connecting it to your phone). The pen has a memory that stores the strokes made, and when connected, the user can synchronize their notes. The app also shows how much of the memory is full. I would add that a major technological and EDC disadvantage of the pen is the micro USB connector used to charge it. I would also like to mention the battery life, but I can't because I haven't written enough with it to drain it, or at least not noticeably. On the other hand, the refill used for the pen is an advantage. It is a classic 0.8 mm refill. This paragraph explains why I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5. I have a problem with the AI in the app, which is supposed to convert the strokes from the pen into digital text. Even normal, normally written words in the supported languages are not fully recognized, and completely different words appear instead. And this is despite the fact that the text then doesn't make sense. I will follow further updates and believe that the accuracy of the text conversion will improve with development – but for now, I recommend not counting on 100% reliability of the automatic transcription. This is followed by AI, which can further process the recognized text. I haven't tried this yet because I haven't really needed to, so I can't evaluate this set of tools. There's not much you can mess up on physical notebooks. Although you can here, because these notebooks have special paper. But even in this regard, everything is fine and the stroke recognition works perfectly. I appreciate that the notebooks have an integrated bookmark and numbered pages. The page numbering makes sense because it is then displayed in the app, making it easier to navigate. If you're tempted to experiment with a digital notebook and want to be among the first to test a similar concept, XNote is an interesting and original choice – but keep in mind that some features (especially AI text conversion) are still being improved.

Game Changer

The notebook and writing worked great. I love the real time view on the app, I can see someone in another room gathering material during a client meeting while you write a task list. The first client I used it with, I emailed the notes to them before they even left the office.

Size of Note Books

I find the size of note book too small for me to freely express my thoughts & visual diagrams! Would be nice if company can make a A-3 size sketch book for those who need bigger surface for sketching!

Room for improvement

So far, I really like the idea of taking notes this way, but I do have some issues with the pen. First, the micro-USB port should be upgraded to USB-C—it's 2025, after all. The material choice for the pen feels odd to me; if I'm going to use it for extended periods, I’d prefer a softer material or a more ergonomic design. Additionally, the pen only works with a specific type of paper (presumably to ensure continued revenue for the company—yeah, right...). If the company disappears, I’ll be left with a pricey piece of e-waste (hopefully, the battery is replaceable). The replacement ink cartridge also feels very low quality in my opinion. Anyway, I hope some of these improvements will be considered for version 2. If not, just buy a Moleskine notebook, pair it with a more ergonomic pen, scan your notes with ChatGPT—and voilà, you’ve future-proofed your workflow

The product works perfect and as described. One improvement suggestion from my side: the pen itself should activate the software on the phone or iPad. Sometimes you need to quickly take a note and now you have to turn on the phone, enter pin or Face ID, find the icon, turn on the software, select a page and then start writing. Too much time ;) Other than that it works flawlessly

7 day of use

The interface can be more user friendly- if you are not familiar with the menu structure it is sometimes hard to find certain features eg to do list - icon is not explicative why not simply put ‘tasks’ or ‘to do’? After 7 days I still don’t know how to use the different features for instance create chart - chart of what? - I have three different notebooks. I have really no idea how to use the 4 tiles - nowhere there is a YouTube feed to explain these features nor is there a manual with exploitant examples. So please do something about this. This would increase dramatically the user’s experience. General impression: good product. Most important issue:The pen tips, as well as the pens themselves, exude a minimalist quality. After writing just a few lines, the pen tip becomes dirty, as if it has scraped off tiny fibers from the paper — and needs to be cleaned. There’s also no proper way to store the pen, for example, by sliding it between the cover and the paper section.

So far, the pen and notebook work as they should with smooth transition to text. Sharing would be great if you could import straight to email rather than document attachment. And I’m still playing around with the AI function. A ‘search text’ function would be helpful. Graph function I haven’t used much but on first pass a little hit and miss.

The pen does not have good flowing ink. Upgrade this to other options like something other than fine - maybe rollerball?

Surprised me more than I thought

First off, the notetaking app is very nice! You have an option to either transcribe it in your handwritten text or get a text based version of your writing. This is great if you want to send something to your boss or someone else , and your handwriting is not the best. Had a couple errors every now and again for the pen wouldn’t turned on or sync properly and half of the page or so would be missing in the app, but that has only been once or twice. Just make sure you hear the pen turn on before you use it and you will be good . Overall I would definitely recommend for anybody that really likes to hand write notes, but also wants a digital version. Oh and also, this thing is awesome for shopping lists!

I see a lot of potential in this product, but I’d love to see a web app interface, as well as an option to connect my open AI subscription or any other AI model that I can oauth into

It actually works! And very well. Helps with the nightly workflow of not looking at blue light and get today’s journal and tomorrow’s to-do list done. Well, also being able to put it in a software to track it.

This is what I looking for all the time and I didn’t known about it! The only tiny flaw with this notebook is that it doesn’t have a spot to slide in a pen. I just got a little elastic pen holder and attached it to the notebook – problem solved! Honestly, the pen and the notebook go hand in hand. Other than that, it’s an awesome buy! I totally recommend it to anyone who loves writing things down but also likes having everything saved digitally. Thank you!

My opinion on Xnote

I have to say that it is a bit difficult to work with it. It is very confusing that you can only enter data by writing on the book pages. You cannot import separate handwritten images or other files at all. It is good for someone to get acquainted with this genre where you can communicate by handwriting with ChatGPT, but in a matter of minutes I found another product on the Internet that can do these things light years more efficiently, conveniently and cheaper.

Does What they Promise!l and More!

I’ve had a few smart writing books and devices over the years but always wanted them to do more! Wanted to find my notes without tagging them manually, wanted to make to do lists from notes, wanted to find notes easily when I write meeting notes all day, wanted my notes to connect to my calendar. Wanted to sometimes change my notes to type text. And somethings I didn’t know I needed such as… TRANSLATING notes! I work in the Middle East so translating my notes to Arabic is something I never wished for as I didn’t think it was possible. The XNote does this amazingly well I am a lover of handwriting my notes and the XNote really does it all for me, combining the very best of AI and handwriting. Love it and wouldn’t go back to any other notebook now!

good product, but the pen never gets connected

the product does what is promised, with the exception that the pen connected well to the app the first time and then there is no way to make it connect. it connected randomly on its own another time, but then I turn off and on the pen, the bluetooth, the app, the phone, there is no way of making it connect to the phone again. Amazing but sometimes does not send writing to notebook

X note is great when it works. And most of the time it does. I had situation when it completely did not show the page that I was writing on the app in the phone

slowly figuring it out - no real directions.

It’s good. Not sure how to use AI in the program and not much for directions for use, but I’m slowly figuring it out.

Basically just a smart pen

The pen connects to the phone well and writing is copied to the app. That's really it. You can use AI to improve your dictation ect, but you can do that by copying the text and pasting into Outlook ect. Seems a lot of money for what it is.

Great for mentalism

I’m a magician and I have used the X-Note notebook to secretly acquire names, numbers and other pieces of information from the audience. I think this product should be marketed to mentalists and magicians. It works great so far, I wish the pen didn’t say X-Note, have a light, and make a noise every time you uncap it. -Charlie

When I first saw this I thought it was a scam - That's not possible I thought. BUT I checked it out and bought it. It is fantastic, just what I needed a fast and efficient way to share ideas and notes to my team. Thank you XNote

I like the notebook with a hard cover and binder to secure the inside stuff I try to carry.

Great idea, poor execution!

I am the secretary of the Florida Women Veterans Advocacy Council and a 100% disabled Marine Corps disabled veteran, and when I saw XNotes-I was so excited! I thought—wOW I can take my minutes and get them sent out to the rest of the team in minutes, boy was I wrong! Notes has a great concept; however, there are no instructions! I have spent countless hours online trying to find out how to do simple tasks For example, the Xnotes does not stay in typed form when emailing to the group. What is the point? Nobody what’s to see my scribble! And how do you change from the book sizes? I’m sure there are answers tobthese questions; however, there were no instructions-very frustrating for the amount of money I spent. I have faith that one day it will all work out.

I bought it thinking as a gadget but it turned out to be an excellent tool for my everyday use at work!!

Does everything I need

I like to write notes all the time, then lose the paper I was writing on. With XNote I never lose my notes! Easy to use! LOVE IT

The calendar is set for 45 years ago it keeps saying ? Also is it going to start requiring a monthly fee soon? I don’t seem to understand how to use different note books either? I would really like to have more instruction. I can’t find any thing on line.

Brilliant In Every Way

The XNote is exactly what I was looking for. I like writing on paper but also I need to store my notes electronically and I was extremely amazed with XNote and what it can do, off course a few improvements are needed for the app but overall it is amazing.

Works well! Glad I can see my notes on my iPad version of the app.

It works the way it is advertised! It does a great job recognizing my horrible handwriting. The summaries are what you would expect from AI, which is not always what you get from other AI. Battery life is great.

I just got a full set. The pen wasn’t working out of the box. Sent them my email and they sent me a new set within a week. Unbelievable how fast and nice the service was.

I have been waiting for technology like this for the last ten years! I always take notes in Evernote and physical notes at the same time—physical notes help me remember, and Evernote makes it easy to find the topic later. Thank you for inventing such a product.

Kinda magical except the bluetooth connection

Yes, it's incredibly cool to see your scribbles on the page and on the screen simultaneously. My only issue is difficulty connecting the pen to the app, I often have to restart my phone to get the sync to work (granted it's not a new phone so maybe that's what's wrong). Overall I'm very pleased, but I do also wish there were more notebook types, graph paper, letter sized, etc. etc.

Thank you XNote Team. I would again just like to give you (and other users) some GOOD news. After I tested a number of variables, XNote has been working as advertised (except for the "Math" bug). Amazing!

First impression, mine arrived a couple of weeks ago. I've worked through some minor bugs (I'm using an iPhone 14 in Canada) and the results so far have been intriguing, this has utterly fantastic potential to be an amazing product.
